Kalle Group is an internationally operating, long established company with the core business lines casings for processed meat products, functional food ingredients and sponge cloths & absorbing products. The Group has about 1,700 staff worldwide. Turnover in financial year 2013 was approximately € 250 million.

Kalle is one of the global market leaders in the production of casings for processed meat products. This also applies to the sponge cloth business line.

The Group's headquarters are located in Wiesbaden / Germany. Central management, the centre for global sales and marketing activities, significant parts of the production as well as central administration are located there. With a highly modern innovation and application centre, the Wiesbaden site additionally serves as the Group's R&D centre.

Further significant parts of the production chain are located in Bersenbrück / Germany and Sohren / Germany. Speciality polymer and textile-based casings are produced and sold through the following subsidiary companies: Oskuda (Georgsmarienhütte / Germany), and Texda (Osnabrück / Germany).

Outside of Germany, Kalle has its own sales organisations, some of which have affiliated production and packing operations, in Chile, Denmark, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and USA. In addition, Kalle maintains a global network of specialised representatives.

The company's history dates back to 1863. Following the separation from Hoechst AG in 1997, Kalle Group has successfully expanded internationally. Silverfleet Capital financial investors have been majority shareholders in Kalle since 2009.
